Procedure for submitting and reviewing applications
Applications were submitted from 1 to 31 December 2023. Applications are reviewed in accordance with the procedure established by Article 360 of the Law "On Higher Education and Science" .
The applications were assessed by an advisory panel consisting of experts in various scientific and artistic disciplines. The advisory panel assessed the applications using a point system, which allowed for an objective comparison of the candidates' achievements within each discipline.
According to the group's guidelines, no more than 5 scholarships could be recommended to young scientists within each scientific discipline, of which only 1 could be assigned to a doctoral student. If fewer than 5 scholarships were recommended in a discipline, a field-leveling mechanism could be applied. If there were places available in a particular discipline, they could be filled by candidates from other disciplines in the same field of science.
Each discipline has two separate rankings:
The first rating includes individuals with a doctoral degree, academic teachers without a doctoral degree, and those preparing a doctoral dissertation externally.
The second rating is intended only for doctoral students.
Upon completion of the assessment, ranking lists were compiled and presented to the Minister of Science, Dariusz Wieczorek, along with recommendations. Based on these lists and recommendations, the Minister made a decision on awarding scholarships to the best young scientists.
